100% Battery powered alarm easily mounts on wall, within 12 inches from ceiling and eliminates the need for cords required with plug-in alarms. Voice alerts in both English and Spanish announce "Danger! Natural Gas Explosion Risk!" and instructions to "Evacuate! Then Call 911" 10% LEL gas alarm threshold alerts you to emergenices much sooner with 11 minutes more escape time on average than a 25% LEL gas alarm threshold. Natural gas (methane) alarms should be installed in all rooms where a gas leak may occur, or a gas appliance is located. Easily install in kitchens, laundry rooms, and furnace areas, as well as near natural gas fireplaces. Selective to natural gas (methane) and proven to be reisistant to amonia, acetone, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, and other household chemicals. 6-year battery and 6-year product service life. Operates in temperatures ranging from 32°F to 122°F and a humidity range of 5% to 95% relative humidity. Battery-powered device enables installation close to ceiling where natural gas is more accurately detected, as natural gas is lighter than air and rises toward the ceiling. Includes internal self-diagnostics. No calibration needed. ETL tested and listed to UL1484 standards. WARNING! DO NOT test alarm by performing a one-time gas release from a gas stove. This is VERY dangerous and not the intended way to test a natural gas alarm. Natural gas is lighter than air, so it rises to the ceiling first.
